New crime figures show worrying rise
Crime figures released today by the National Office of Statistics show that sex offences, robbery, theft and burglary continue to rise in London. London Liberal Democrat Mayoral Candidate Brian Paddick said:
“These figures show that crime is rising again in London despite what the Mayor says. Crime is the No.1 concern for Londoners but instead of taking charge, this Mayor has stupidly delegated responsibility for policing to someone else in his team who is clearly failing.
“With my 30 years experience in the Met Police, I will personally take on the role of Police and Crime Commissioner, and my first priority will be to get more uniforms back on our streets, responding to our calls for help. The police have got to adopt Londoners priorities, not theirs.
“I will get the public and police standing together against the criminals to bring down crime permanently.”
